Human Hair Clip In Hair Extensions
Human hair clip in extensions, the latest phenomenon in beauty products. Any newcomers to hair extensions may question the need for hair extensions, or indeed, why people wear hair extensions in the first place. The fact of the matter is that very few people are blessed with long, thick, luxurious hair, and clip in hair extensions are a quick and easy way to achieve the desired look to add volume and length.
The reason for using real human hair is to give the hair extensions a natural feel and also to give the wearer complete freedom with hair styling, as human hair is easily styled using typical hair appliances such as straightners and curlers.
Where do Human Hair Extensions Come From?
High quality human hair is usually sourced from India, the reason being that the hair is thick, easily manageable and all start with the same colour making them easier to keep to the same tone when they are processed for colouring. Manufacturing of the hair extensions however is global.
Industrial heavy nations such as China and Indonesia are popular locations for manufacturers due to the low cost of labour. The human hair goes through quite a process before being an end product, which is why they are not cheap.
What happens to the human hair when it is manufactured?
The hair is first sorted into lengths, it is then cleaned and prepared for a process called an acid bath, the acid bath process strips the hair of its natural colour and more than likely strip the hair cuticle too. After this process, the human hair goes through a colouring process dependant on the hair extensions distributors request.
Once the hair itself is ready, it is then sewn together into a weave by machine. The weaves are then cut up and made into either clip in hair extensions or weft hair extensions
Who Wears Clip In Hair Extensions
Previously, hair extensions were only worn by high profile celebrities and models. However, as hair extensions have become more and more accessible, hair extensions are worn by practically anyone. Hair Extensions are used by a wide range of people, from a fashion conscious teen looking for a desirable hair style, to a mature lady looking for volume to achieve their sophisticated hair do.
Hair extensions are continually used by high profile celebrities, like Kim Kardashian, Tulisa from N Dubz and Catherine Jenkins who wears the premium hair extensions Pink Label Clip In Hair Extensions and Blue Label Weft Hair Extensions by Hairaisers
Different types of Human Hair Extensions
There are many different factors when it comes to the type of hair extensions. First is their application method which are typically applied by clips, glue, tape or sewn. We find that any newcomers are best suited to clip in hair extensions as they are easily removed and easier to care for as you can unclip them and wash them etc.
The next factor is the type of hair used, remy and non-remy hair. Remy hair is hair that still has the hair cuticle still intact. The advantage of having Remy hair is that they are less like likely to tangle, will last longer and generally look healthier. Remy hair however comes at a price, a very expensive price!
Practically all of the hair extensions today are non-remy or perhaps a blend of Remy and non-Remy, despite them being branded as such. Due to misinformation and abuse of the name, the term “Remy Hair Extensions” cannot now be definitely assumed as actual Remy hair.
Hair Extension Colours
As discussed before, hair extension colours are defined by the distributor. Each company has their own colour chart. We base our hair extension colours on the extensive Hairaisers colour range.
We chose the name colour guide for this site for that reason, hair extension colour charts are to only be used as a guide. We feel this, as no batch of hair will ever be the exact same. It is impossible to get the exact tone with human hair time after time. Instead the factories use the colour chart as their guide of what colour to aim for.
Human hair is an organic product, and should be treated as so. If the hair has been mistreated by the donor, then that poor quality will be passed on to the final product. So if you feel your hair extensions are not as they should be, send them back. Unfortunately is not possible to avoid the few poor quality human hair from being processed, but professional hair extension companies know this, and will be willing to replace the product after seeing the hair extensions themselves.
