Hair Extensions for Dogs???

Hair Extensions for Dogs

Well now I’ve heard it all. Dogs also now have the privilege of getting hair extensions. When I first heard this, I thought it was a joke… but nope, its true! As a dog lover myself, I am a bit dubious at the morals of putting hair extensions onto dogs.

Dogs as a Fashion Accessory

Its no secret that dogs are seen by some as a fashion accessory, a perfect example of this is Paris Hilton and her precious Chihuahuas that are dressed in clothes and carried around like a handbag.

Now we’re moving into hair extensions for dogs… I can’t see what the appeal is or any benefit. We sell hair extensions… for people only. Even with that in mind, we will not supply full head of hair extensions for use on minors. So using hair extensions on dogs is a no no in our point of view.

With this in mind, are hair extensions for dogs cruel? Not really, they aren’t in pain, but using them like objects can be considered cruel.

Hair Extensions on Dogs Cruel?

Personally, I do not think it’s right. Perhaps I’m overreacting, but I am concerned about objectifying these animals like a “toy doll” that you can do whatever you like to them. I donate to two dog charities, Battersea Dogs Home and the Dogs Trust and you can too by following the links!
